Students of the Year Denver

Annalee Miner | Team Cancer's Answer

Welcome to Annalee Miner's SOY Fundraising Page!

Jan 09, 2020
Shada and I are humbled and honored to participate as co-candidates for the 2020 Students of the Year Program. This is a seven-week initiative in which select high school students from around the country participate in a fundraising competition to benefit The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society. We are both dedicated to raising critical dollars in honor of this year's honored hero, Izzy Kerr. When Izzy was 3 years old she was diagnosed with leukemia. She has been cancer-free for 10 years! Izzy is in the 10th grade at Smoky Hill High School and plays cello, swims and loves art. Each dollar donated is a vote. The candidate team that raises the most money by February 28th is named the Student of the Year. Our goal is to not only raise money but to raise awareness of blood cancers like leukemia, which is the most common form of cancer in children and teens. Since the early 1960s, five-year survival rates for many blood cancer patients have doubled, tripled or even quadrupled. And many LLS supported therapies not only help blood cancer patients but are helping patients with other cancers and serious diseases. In fact, drugs first approved for blood cancers are now approved to treat patients with stomach cancers, skin cancers, and autoimmune diseases like rheumatoid arthritis. We really are changing the face of blood cancer! All donations are greatly appreciated and are tax-deductible. Help us reach our goal of $50,000. They'll not only support LLS-funded research but will help provide critical information and support for patients, and support advocacy for laws to ensure patients can access the care and treatments they need. Please visit our website often and bring friends who would also like to donate! On behalf of blood cancer patients everywhere, thank you for your support! Why you should donate to my campaign...

Jan 09, 2020

A donation to LLS and my campaign will help advance crucial cancer research how ever big or small your donation is. Cancer is a huge part of our society and there is still so much we do not know. Donate to help advance research and treatments, and to improve the quality of life of patients and their families. You will also contribute to the success of my campaign, and my future education. ALL donations are greatly appreciated.

Why I am passionate

Jan 03, 2020
I am so honored and excited to be a candidate for the 2020 Students of the Year campaign. I am extremely lucky to say that I have not been personally touched by a blood cancer, but sadly so many people can not say that. Cancer touches the lives of so many, and it is important to me to know that I did everything in my power to improve treatments and research because I do not know what is to come for me and my loved ones in the future. I have become incredibly passionate about this campaign and hope you are too! I am so grateful for all the incredible work that LLS continues to do. They have funded many advancements, but this would not be possible without your donations!

I am honored to participate as a team member for the 2020 Students of the Year program, a seven-week initiative in which select high school students from around the country participate in a fundraising competition to benefit The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society. I am proud to support my candidate and am raising critical dollars in honor of a young patient hero who is currently battling or is in remission from a blood cancer. Each dollar is a vote. The candidate team that raises the most money at the end of the seven weeks is named Student of the Year. Our mission is to not only raise the most money but also to bring attention to blood cancers like leukemia, which is the most common form of cancer in children and teens.

Since the early 1960s, five-year survival rates for many blood cancer patients have doubled, tripled or even quadrupled. And many LLS supported therapies not only help blood cancer patients but are helping patients with other cancers and serious diseases.
