I am honored and thrilled to have been nominated to participate in Colorado’s Students of the Year campaign for The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (LLS). This is a 7-week campaign from January 10, 2019 to March 1, 2019. This campaign involves fundraising for LLS to save lives through blood cancer research. 

I am not fundraising for myself, but rather, all of the people in my life and around the world who are affected by cancer. One of the main draws to LLS for me was learning that such a wide variety of cancers and diseases benefit from blood cancer research. In addition to working to cure blood cancer, LLS also supports research that repurposes drugs to combat other cancers and diseases such as Parkinson’s, MS, Diabetes, Alzheimer’s, and many more.  I have seen the impact of cancer and these diseases on people close to me and am aware of the impact this type of research can have. It can be the difference between life and death.  

I have a strong desire to make a difference, and to do so, I will need all the help I can get. My personal goal is to raise a minimum of $10,000 for this important cause by March 1, 2019. I can’t wait to make a difference by funding this research to help those struggling from cancer and diseases.
