Students of the Year Palm Beach
Team Hermanos | Hermanos Campaign Team
Welcome to Team Hermanos' SOY Fundraising Page!
As many of you know, we lost our father, Bruce Herman, to pancreatic cancer when we were just 10 years old. Our father was incredibly special to each and every one of us. As deputy labor commissioner of New York State, from 2007 to the time of his death, he changed a countless amount of lives while simultaneously being a great father.
My brother Taylor and I have been nominated to participate in the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (LLS) Students of the Year campaign. We are eager to accept this challenge, along with our incredible team of friends and family members, to raise funds in memory of our father. Not only does LLS fund researchers to find cures for blood cancers, they have also funded 16 different FDA-approved drugs that are also commonly used to treat patients with breast, lung, pancreatic and ovarian cancer, to name a few.
As “Team Hermanos” we are proud to honor the memory of our father, who not only made an impact in our lives, but the lives of thousands around this country, and also to support those who are currently battling blood cancers. Our goal is to raise $50,000 from January 16-March 8, which will allow us to link our father’s name to a cutting-edge research grant funded by LLS, but we'd love to raise much more! As many of you may also know, our mom, Jennifer, is a lymphoma survivor herself. She was the recipient of an experimental autologous bone marrow transplant in June of 1992 and is now a survivor of almost 27 years and is very thankful to LLS and their researchers to be alive.
It’s with deep appreciation to both our parents that we ask that you support us as Students of the Year, but more importantly that you support the Lymphoma Leukemia Society. The funds raised will go towards research and support of doctors, patients and families for a multitude of promising initiatives.
Thank you truly,
Luke and Taylor Herman
