Courtney Giang | Craw Out Cancer

Welcome to Courtney Giang's SOY Fundraising Page!

Cancer. That one, single word has been the root of a nauseating pain that has made its home in my chest for the past six years. Those years hold significance, as they represent the time my grandfather has not been with me. He passed away in 2013 after being diagnosed with cancer three years prior. Conscious of the inevitable outcome of his fate, he decided to spend his last remaining days in Vietnam. I remember him pulling out of the driveway with me and my cousins watching through the window, tears streaming down our faces. I felt helpless. I was angry at myself for sitting back and merely watching him get paler and skinner year after year. My acceptance in this campaign is a tribute to my grandfather. I want to help be a part of the reason why those diagnosed with cancer continue to persevere.

This campaign is a way for me to give back to my grandfather and to all the other families who are going through cancer. Every donation counts. Please remember that. NO AMOUNT is too small or too large.

I want to thank you for clicking on the donation link. In addition to that, I am honored to be participating in the 2019 Students of the Year program. It is a seven-week initiative in which select high school students from around the country participate in a fundraising competition to benefit The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society. Each dollar is a vote. The candidate team that raises the most money at the end of the seven weeks is named Student(s) of the Year. Our mission is to not only raise the most money but also to bring attention to blood cancers like leukemia, which is the most common form of cancer in children and teens.

Cancer is the emperor of all maladies. LLS is focused on bringing new treatments for cancer, funding research, and helping families deal with treatment.

All donations are greatly appreciated and are tax deductible. They'll not only support LLS-funded research but will help provide critical information and support for patients, and support advocacy for laws to ensure patients can access the care and treatments they need.

Please visit our website often and bring friends who would also like to donate!

On behalf of blood cancer patients everywhere, thank you for your support!
