For years, I have worked with the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society to help raise money and participate in their annual Race to Anyplace. I had planned 2019 to be like any other year. I'd help the event organizers as much as I could, and create a team to ride with, just like I always had.

 

All of that changed however, when I received a text message from my friend, and brother in Phi Delta Theta, Dr. Greg Gray. Needless to say, when I read his text I was floored.

 

He asked me if I was still involved with LLS and said...

 

"So, I wanted to tray and start a team. Maybe a brother team. I was recently diagnosed with stage 4 mixed cell lymphoma..."

 

After the initial shock, my thought was immediately, "hell yeah!"

 

Here's Greg, battling this thing we had no idea he was dealing with, and his first thought was "I want to use this as a way to bring our brothers together. The old guys, my generation, and the new guys."

 

That's why we're reaching out to you now. I don't care if you're Lance on the bike, or you've never been on a bike and haven’t worked out in 10 years! Come support Greg & hang out with the brothers. If he can battle Lymphoma, we can hop on a spin bike for 15 minutes (even if it’s for the first time in your life!).

 

Even if you have no interest in actually riding, we'd love to have you come down to the event and simply hang out with Greg! The event is at Heinz field. We can grab a few dinks after your ride (yes, they have a cash bar), and maybe even head out after for something to eat.

 

If you can't make it, please consider making a donation in Greg's honor. Anything is appreciated, from $5, $10, $50, $100 or more. Nothing is too small or large.
