Thank you coming to my web page:
I am sure that each one of you knows, or did know, a person who was afflicted with a blood disease like Leukemia or Lymphoma. As many people have, I lost several very close friends to these hideous blood diseases, which is why I ride each year to raise research funds.
This year, I am riding in honor of two individuals. Many of you from Chicago know Rob Stafford, NBC5 Evening Anchor. Our children grew up together and our families share so many great memories as the kids have grown. A couple of years ago, Rob was diagnosed with a very rare blood disease. While Rob remained very sick for some time, Rob was able to win his battle and we pray that it is gone forever. Rob credits the tremendous research that is going on in blood cancer research for his return to good health.
I am also riding for a very close friend of my son, Chris. One month ago, Bobby Ghosh was diagnosed with a very aggressive form of Lymphoma and he is already undergoing very heavy chemotherapy and is in the fight of his very young life. We pray for Bobby and hope he will kick this terrible disease as Rob did.
This year, my wife Sue and I are offering a challenge match. Sue and I will match all donations, dollar for dollar, up to a total match of $20,000. That's $40,000 to Leukemia and Lymphoma research if we meet the match! But let’s not stop there, help us break the $50,000 goal!
Please let friends and family know of this page and forward this email to as many people as you can. Together, we can find a cure!
Thank you all so very much for your support!
