Welcome To My Scenic Shore 150 Fundraising Page.

A few years ago I noticed a lump on my neck that wasn't there before. A few months later the lump was still there so I called my doctor to make sure it was nothing. She sent me to the Carbone Cancer Center and after a biopsy they told me the startling news - I had a form of Lymphoma called SLL (or Small Lymphocytic Lymphoma). After getting over the initial shock I started my research and discovered that I was one of the lucky ones - this particular form of blood cancer is very slow growing and many people live with it for years before chemo treatments are necessary. Unfortunately, there are many people being diagnosed with other more aggressive blood cancers every day who aren't quite so fortunate. I have made it my mission to raise money for the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society to help them fund scientists looking for cures for these forms of blood cancer. 

Please join me in supporting The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (LLS) by making a donation to my fundraising campaign. Our efforts will help fund the therapies and treatments that will help save lives today. LLS's continued advancements over the years, are responsible for the blood cancer survival rate doubling and tripling; in some cases, the survival rate has even quadrupled. And many LLS supported therapies not only help blood cancer patients but are now used to treat patients with rare forms of stomach and skin cancers. They're even being tested in clinical trials for patients with a range of cancers including lung, brain, breast, pancreatic and prostate cancers. LLS funded drugs are now being tested for patients with other non-cancerous diseases like Diabetes, Rheumatoid Arthritis and Multiple Sclerosis.

We really are changing the face of blood cancer!

All donations are greatly appreciated and are tax deductible. They'll not only support LLS research but patient services, advocacy, public and professional education, and community services as well.
