Hello Friends and Family,
Welcome to my fundraising page for the LLS Scenic Shore 150. The Scenic Shore is a two-day, 150-mile cycling event that takes place along the scenic shore of Make Michigan. The ride is a fundraising event held by The Luekemia & Lymphoma Society for funding blood cancer research and related activities, including patient support.
LLS's continued advancements over the years, are responsible for the blood cancer survival rate doubling and tripling; in some cases, the survival rate has even quadrupled. Many LLS supported therapies not only help blood cancer patients but are now used to treat patients with rare forms of stomach and skin cancers. They're even being tested in clinical trials for patients with a range of cancers including lung, brain, breast, pancreatic and prostate cancers. LLS funded drugs are now being tested for patients with other non-cancerous diseases like Diabetes, Rheumatoid Arthritis and Multiple Sclerosis. We really are changing the face of blood cancer!
Please join me in supporting blood cancer research by donating to The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (LLS) through this fundraising page. As in the past, I am riding as a team member with the Riders of the Storm, a cycling team created by the great folks at Hines. I am honored to ride with this great fundraising team for the 5th year now and I am hoping that you will donate generously to this great cause. Our team goals is $400,000! I am riding this year in honor of three close friends who lost their battle with Leukemia. They are Judy Veselik, Don Mulvihill and John Andreat. Although we have been able to triple the survival rate of blood cancers, these three show us that we need to do more. Please help me achieve my goal of $50,000 by giving as much as you can. As an added incentive, we have a donor that will match donations dollar-for-dollar up to a total outlay of $15,000 - this doubles your donation! And please, spead the word and tell all your friends.
All donations are tax deductible. They'll not only support LLS research but patient services, advocacy, public and professional education, and community services as well.
On behalf of blood cancer patients everywhere I thank you for your support!
