This year, our team of 6 FireFighters who are representing BLFD are priviieged to have our Commissioner Michelle Pidduck as our honoree.  Michelle is a FF/EMT/PIO/PEO and has worked for 21 years with Shoreline Fire and two summers prior as a wildland firefighter.  Here is a short testimony from Michelle about her battle with cancer:

"Being a cancer survivor is a club I want to be in!  Beating this horrible thing took strong Faith, a great deal of support by my family, friends and fire family.  I decided to take a positive approach throughout all the treatment which I believe helped tremendously.  I now use my experience to help as many people out as possible with their walk through this.  Every CPR and First Aid Class I teach, I talk about my experience and encourage everyone to get checked and have their family members as well.  Going through this process is just another hurdle in life.  It has made me stronger and I feel God has used me to help others.  Which is why I went into this profession in the first place.  I now have another community which I love being a commissioner for, getting to represent BLFD and its awesome group of volunteers."
