Hey Everyone!
Kate and I are once again participating in the LLS Seattle Firefighter Stair Climb event on Sunday 9 March. Most of you know the drill: Kate helps staff the event and I climb 69 storeys of the Columbia Tower in full fire fighting gear, including breathing from an air pack. The goal is twofold: to raise money for the LLS, and for me to prove to myself that I’m not old. Kate and I have done this for many years. It has become personal as we have seen many close friends and family succumb to blood cancers.
I wear on my helmet the photos of Blaze, Lily, Mark, Tyler, Dave, and Gary to remind me why we do this and to motivate my old bones up the stairs for the months of training we put into prepping for the race.
PLEASE DONATE!
Someday there will be a cure. Unfortunately, that cure will take time, effort, and money. That is where you come in. I know inflation has kicked most of our budget butts but please consider doing what you can. I truly believe the more financial support the scientist get, the quicker the cure will be found.
"MORE SOONER, MORE BETTER."
Below is the LLS spiel (hint: the DONATE NOW button is the BIG RED button to the right)
Thank you in advance for donating!
Kate and Andy
Please join me in supporting The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (LLS) by making a donation to my fundraising campaign. Thanks to your support, my efforts, will help fund the therapies and treatments and help save lives today.
LLS's continued advancements over the years, are responsible for the blood cancer survival rate doubling and tripling; in some cases, the survival rate has even quadrupled.
And many LLS supported therapies not only help blood cancer patients but are now used to treat patients with rare forms of stomach and skin cancers. They're even being tested in clinical trials for patients with a range of cancers including lung, brain, breast, pancreatic and prostate cancers. LLS funded drugs are now being tested for patients with other non-cancerous diseases like Diabetes, Rheumatoid Arthritis and Multiple Sclerosis.
We really are changing the face of blood cancer!
All donations are greatly appreciated and are tax deductible. They'll not only support LLS research but patient services, advocacy, public and professional education, and community services as well.
Please visit my Web site often and bring friends who would also like to donate!
On behalf of blood cancer patients everywhere I thank you for your support!
