For me, this is personal, very personal.  Just before we kicked off the Pennies for Patients fundraiser two years ago, my son was diagnosed with Stage 2 Nodular Sclerosis Hodgkin's Lymphoma.  The outstanding eduational materials from the Leukemia & Lymphoma society helped give me the education I never dreamed I would need, but more importantly, the research by the LLS over the years provided my son's oncologist with the exact 4 chemothreapy drugs and dosages to best treat my son's cancer. 

My son has been in remission nearly 2 years now and is doing great.  I am 100% convinced that it is due to the students and parents over the last 20 or thirty years who donated their pocket change, cleaned out chairs, sofas, and cars of lost change and put lost money to good use, and funded the research that worked so well for my son.  I will always be greatful for those donations.  Now, I am paying it forward with lots of crazy contests for students in my school, and rewarding the winners by cooking French crepe and pastry breakfasts for students that meet various donation goals.

You can help me pay it forward too by donating to my Pennies for Patients campaign.  I donated small amounts and pocket change for years, never really thinking about it, but just knowing it would do someone some good.  I never dreamed just how personally that good would come back to me. 

 All proceeds benefit The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (LLS), and are used for critical blood cancer research and advocacy.

Because of donors like YOU, there are more children and adults surviving every day. 

There is still more work to be done! More than one-third of blood cancer patients still do not survive 5 years after their diagnosis.
