Hi Family and Friends,
We wanted to reach out to you from our hearts with something deeply personal. Over the years, cancer has devastated our family and so many of our dear friends in ways that words can barely capture. We’ve watched loved ones fight with incredible courage, only to be taken too soon. We’ve held hands through chemotherapy sessions, sat in waiting rooms filled with fear and hope, and felt the profound emptiness left behind when this disease steals someone irreplaceable from our lives. The pain doesn’t fade — it lingers in empty chairs at family gatherings, in memories that bring both smiles and tears, and in the quiet moments when we wonder “what if.”
This evil predator doesn’t discriminate. It destroys families, shatters dreams, and leaves countless people heartbroken and hurting. We’ve seen it up close, and it breaks us every single time.
Right now, the fight feels even more urgent because critical funding for cancer research has been slashed dramatically. In 2025 alone, federal support for cancer research through the National Institutes of Health dropped by billions, with proposals for even deeper cuts in 2026. This isn’t just numbers on a page — these cuts slow down life-saving discoveries, delay clinical trials, and make it harder for researchers to chase the cures we know are possible.
That is why we are riding our bikes from Houston to Niagara Falls, July 20-25, 2026, as part of the HPD Bike Relay Team for the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (LLS).
We are pedaling hundreds of miles not just for exercise, but to raise money and awareness for this cause that has touched us all so deeply. Every mile, every drop of sweat, is dedicated to funding research that brings us closer to treatments and cures for blood cancers and beyond. There is a cure out there — we believe it with everything in us — but we must keep fighting relentlessly to find it. We refuse to let this disease continue stealing from us. It’s time to reclaim our power, stand together, and push back against this monster with everything we’ve got.
We know times are hard for many, but if you are able, we humbly ask for your support. Whether it’s a donation, sharing our story, or simply riding along in spirit — every bit matters. Your generosity will directly fund life-saving research and help families facing this battle today.
Love,
Jason & Najla
