On June 30, 2021, at the age of 10 years, our sweet Stella was diagnosed with B-Cell Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia. Due to a chromosomal abnormality that puts her at high risk, she has undergone aggressive treatment that has included many spinal taps, multiple IV and oral chemotherapy medications each week, shots at home and some unexpected hospital stays. But if you know Stella, you know the past several months have also been filled with lots of joy, laughter, great faith, and tremendous strength!
Her 5th grade school year hasn’t been what was planned, but with the constant prayers and support of friends, teachers, family, and so many others in the community, Stella has maintained her unwavering tenacity, and we are 100% certain she will win this battle and kick leukemia’s butt! She is nearing the start of the maintenance phase of her treatment, which will continue through October 2023, so we want to walk with her during this time to benefit the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society (LLS). This is our way of honoring Stella and her family, by giving back to an organization that is at the forefront of lifesaving blood cancer research and providing support services to patients and their families. In this crew, no one fights alone! 
Please join us for our 2-mile walk with Stella on Saturday, May 21st, and invite everyone you know! We also encourage you to share this link with others, because the more funds we can raise for this great cause, the more lives will be touched by your generosity. All proceeds will go directly to LLS in Stella’s honor, as she would love nothing more than to give back to this amazing organization and help other patients and families fighting such a terrible disease. How to Walk With Us! Click on the Join as Individual link to register for the walk. The cost is $25; and 100% of proceeds will benefit the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (LLS). After registering for the walk, you will get your own fundraising website. Please consider raising funds to support LLS and the research and patient assistance they provide to blood cancer patients.
Walk Details: This is a two mile walk on the sidewalk loop starting at the Brinker playground. We will walk rain or shine. Please walk to the walk if you live close to keep parking for those coming from afar.
T-shirt Distribution on Friday, May 20th: UPDATE - due to potential rainy weather, T-shirt distribution will be at Sarah Kissel's home: 5912 Henley Drive from 2:30 - 4:00pm. Please call or text (314) 369-3800 when you arrive and your t-shirts will be brought out to you! Any shirts not picked up on May 20th will be available at the walk.
