Athens High School Student Council has partnered with The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (LLS) to raise funds for blood cancer research and patient support services. Our school has joined the Hero Squad Program with thousands of schools nationwide to take on the mission of ending cancer once and for all.

In 2020, LLS invested $2.6 million in research at University of Michigan & the Van Andel Institute across 5 research projects dedicated to finding a cure for blood cancer. Nationally, LLS has invested over $1.3 billion in research to date. LLS has helped to advance 57 of the 66 blood cancer treatment options approved by the (FDA) since 2017 (learn more here).

Thanks to your support, LLS is able to launch endeavors like The LLS Children's Initiative.

This initiative seeks to accelerate treatments with fewer harmful side effects so that young patients like Madelina (above) not only survive, but thrive, for generations to come.
