Hi, my name is Oxana and I am a first year participant at the Big Climb Boston event! If you are on my fundraising page, that means there is just one reason - we, both want to contribute with as little as we can to a noble cause - Helping people diagnosed with blood cancer to have access to affordable treatment and the best medicine! In the last 2 years the FDA approved 39 new blood cancer treatments, LLS funded or part funded 34 of those.
I don't have a personal story related to any of my family members or friends being diagnosed with cancer. I don't have and a wish anyone can say the same; but I have other things that bond me with the fighters, survivors and those that passed away and their families. I have compassion, empathy, and a tremendous desire to help in any possible way! This year I will climb 64 flight of stairs in honor of Abigail Waldron lls Honored Hero age 10 from North Attleboro, MA.
In 2016 Abigail was diagnosed with stage 3 large B-cell non-Hodgkin lymphoma and received her first round of chemotherapy. Following 3 more rounds, Abby received her last treatment on March 14, 2017. Abby is now cancer free! She enjoys playing soccer and running with her YMCA Jaguars team.
I know we all have much to offer. I know there is compassion and kindness in all of us, and your contribution will serve as a huge help for someone diagnosed with blood cancer! We never know who is next; it can be our neighbor, our friend, our parents, can be anyone of us. The great news is that we can help as long as we are proactive about the cause! There is always hope for each of us!
Thank you so much for your support and please don't forget that any contribution can save lives!
