Please read some work from Maxwell Intermediate School 5th graders:

A young lady said:

     Please, click the button on the left to save a child in need with a little donation of $ 10.00.Non-Hodgkin Lymphoma can give you enlargement in the spleen or even the liver. Why would any child have to go through that just because nobody will donate?  Non-Hodgkin Lymphoma isn’t just 1 disease it really is a diverse group of blood cancers that all arise from lymphocytes. If you had that would you want someone to donate to you? Non-Hodgkin Lymphoma develops in lymph nodes and tissue such as the stomach, intestines, or skin. If that grosses you out, imagine how they feel. I have never had cancer, but I have had the flu. I thought that was bad, but I can’t even imagine how they would feel. Please, donate to people with cancer to save their lives, because I read on a website that every 5 minutes a kid gets diagnosed with Lymphoma.

One 5th grader said:

        Please donate us money for people with cancer a dollar would help out at least one person please donate today. My research said, “the symptoms are enlarged liver enlarged spleen and enlarged lymph nodes.” My research also said cancer can cause, “a swollen node appears near the ears the elbow or in the throat near the tonsils.” The last thing the website said was, “it can lead to a swollen node appearing near the ears, the elbow or in the throat near the tonsils.” Someone that I looked up to had leukemia for almost her whole life. Sadly she passed away last year on November 28 in 2019 at the age of 15.

Another Maxwell student said:

        Donate today and help give money to cancer and raise money for people with cancer.  If you have leukemia one sign is weight loss which means it is easy to lose weight but is hard to gain weight.  One of the signs if you have lymphoma is swollen glands or fatigue which can even lead to death. Leukemia and lymphoma have treatment one of them being chemotherapy which can cost upwards to 40,000 dollars.  I know that I have never had something as bad as cancer but others do, even kids and there are over 15,500 deaths a year. So do the right thing and help those in need, it does not have to be a big amount of money but any thing helps.

One student asks:

         Please give money to help people who have cancer. Help people with the side effects that they have like drenching night sweats , itchy skin, and unexplained weight loss. Those are some things I found that are side effects.How you can help them is donate some money for stem cell transplant, clinical trials ,chemotherapy, or radiotherapy. What I found out about Hodgkin lymphoma is Hodgkin lymphoma results from a change to the DNA of a lymphocyte, a type of white blood cell. I have never had cancer, but when I was in 3rd grade someone in my school had cancer and he was not at school for several months. So what we did when he came to the school is the whole school wore a t-shirt in his favorite color. I can't imagine the struggle of having cancer.

A student said:

      Please give money for people who have cancer. CML is usually diagnosed in its chronic phase when treatment is very effective for most patients.CLL is the most common type of leukemia in adults is western countries. Anemia is a condition when there is a low number of red cells  in the blood which can cause fatigue and shortness of breath.My aunt had leukemia and she had to stay in the hospital for ALONG time.My grandma didn’t have cancer but she was really sick and she had to get half of her stomach taken out and she had to stay out of work for 9 months. I hope I never get sick like them.
