This ride has become deeply personal.

Many of you know that my friend's 3-year-old daughter, Nora, who happens to be my daughter's best friend, was recently diagnosed with Stage IV Burkitt lymphoma and is in the early stages of treatment. My father-in-law, James, was diagnosed with multiple myeloma 6 years ago, has underwent a BM transplant and continues with dialysis treatment as a result of the cancer.  Bob Wilson was one of my best friend's dad. Growing up he was a role model and a father figure in many ways.  After a long and difficult battle with acute myeloid leukemia (AML), Bob recently passed away.

So every training ride, every mile at Velo Palmetto, and every dollar raised is in honor of Bob's memory, in support of Nora and James as they continue their fights, and for every family facing blood cancer.
