Meet our Velo Palmetto Honored Hero, Sydney!

On July 2, 2023, Sydney was diagnosed with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia—just before her 3rd birthday. Fast forward to now: she just turned 5 this July and is wrapping up treatment this September. 

She’s smart, spunky, and LOVES insects—especially black widow spiders (yes, really)! This October, we’ll be riding and celebrating BIG in her honor during Velo Palmetto weekend.

I’m riding to raise funds for kids like Sydney and the lifesaving work of the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society. Every mile, every dollar, every story matters.

I am rideing to give others hope in their current battle with blood cancer and in memory of my mom being thankful for the added time we had with her during her battle with lymphoma due to a CAR T treatment that was funded by LLS.

Riding for a cure!

Today I ride for young cancer patient and families bravely battling blood cancers.  The strength of these children inspires me every mile I ride. Our honored hero this year is Sydney who has been battling Acute Lymphocytic Leukemia (ALL). In October we will be celebrating the completion of Sydney's treatment.  

This has been a challenging journey for Sysdney even before her first day of school.

Velo Palmetto is an unparalleled mission focused high impact cycling experience.

I am honored to be participating in this 3rd edition of Velo Palmetto.

The first year of Velo Palmette helped me through my mom's lymphoma journey and is now an opportunity to pay it forward for others facing this battle.

Today I officially kick off my 2025 Velo Palmetto campaign to raise $20,000 for the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (LLS)! Here is a teaser of what we are expecting in Greenville: 

Every mile I ride in training for the event and every dollar we raise brings us closer to cures for blood cancers. Together in this 3rd Year of the Velo Palmetto, we look to do our part in raising $500,000 before we ride in Greenville.
