I am honored to say that I am riding in The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society’s (LLS) Velo Palmetto Cycle Event. I am writing today to ask for your support in my efforts to help LLS cure blood cancers. Every dollar I raise leading up to the event will help LLS fund groundbreaking research for cures, provide free patient support, and advocate for the best interests of patients.
I will be riding in beautiful Greenville, South Caroline alongside passionate, cancer-fighting athletes. My personal goal is to raise $50,000 which will go directly to LLS in support of its longstanding goal: a world without blood cancers.
While I don’t have a blood cancer, I am a cancer survivor and am always looking for ways to get involved to make a difference. As someone who values connecting with meaningful events and organizations, I couldn’t pass up the opportunity to be part of such an impactful initiative.
There are many reasons to be proud to support LLS’s efforts. For instance, approximately 40% of new cancer therapies approved by the FDA since 2000 were first approved for blood cancer patients. And many of these LLS-supported therapies not only help blood cancer patients but they have also led to a tremendous number of advances in many other types of cancers, like bone, brain, and breast. Your contribution will have rippling effects across the entire cancer landscape.
This is an organization that is making an impact with the dollars it raises, and I’m proud to be associated with LLS.
