It started out as a kind of depressing ski season. HOWEVER, times have changed and Park City is getting loads of powder. Join Leya's Lifties (team ID T960661). Skiing is not your passion??? Donate to Leya's Lifties (Personal ID P6049238). This is an incredible opportunity to donate to Blood Cancer Untied, which is an fantastic organizaiton that not only continues to do the work to erridicate blood cancers as well as offer support to those people battling a blood cancer. They used to be the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society. From my own personal experience they provided life saving treatments for my leukemia and helped us through the long battle during my illness. NO AMOUNT IS TOO LITTLE!
Local Skiers JOIN LEYA'S LIFTIES
Non Skiers and those that can't make the fabulous event DONATE to Leya's Lifties.
Many of you know that I am a leukemia survivor. Through my years participating in Shred for Red, a fundraiser supporting Blood Cancer United (BCU)—formerly the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society—our team has continued to grow, and I’ve been fortunate to meet so many incredible people along the way.
I’m especially excited to share that Michele Glicken, a fellow blood cancer survivor, has agreed to serve as co-captain of Leya’s Lifties this year. While our diagnoses and treatment journeys were different, we are both here today because of modern medicine—research that has been partially funded by BCU. We are deeply grateful to the institutions, researchers, caregivers, and organizations that played a role in our outcomes, and especially to BCU for its unwavering support of patients and caregivers.
Fundraising efforts like this directly fuel life-changing research and critical support services for those affected by blood cancers. We truly believe there will come a day when no one will die from a diagnosed blood cancer.
We invite ski enthusiasts to join our team and shred Deer Valley on March 28, 2026, in support of this important cause.
If skiing isn’t your passion, please consider making a donation. Every contribution—large or small—helps BCU advance vital research and provide services that make the fight against blood cancer easier for patients and families.
As recently as 15 years ago, Michele and I might have missed out on many of life’s greatest moments. Today, we share our stories with hope—for a future where blood cancers are no longer fatal and where all cancers can one day be cured.
Thank you for your support,
Michele and Leya
Cancer is a blight upon the lives far too many people. We must find a way to end it. I am glad to support research and the organization that helped to make it possible for Leya Parker to beat the disease and return to a normal, healthy life.

Hi Leya! Congratulations on being one of the first 10 Shred For Red participants to raise at least $100. I pledged to make a $100 match for the first 10. Here's yours! Will I see you in DV on March 28th? I'll be there for the Vertical Challenge. I'm chasing a million vert. I think I'll make it by then. Read more about Vert Challenge here: https://pages.lls.org/content/events/home/shred/challenge/ Thanks! Ches, Blood Cancer United Ski Ambassador
