One year ago, my AML relapsed.

Today, I'm grateful to share that my latest MRI is clear.

As I watch this scan, I'm reminded how fortunate I am. Research gave me options. My doctors gave me hope. And an incredible community carried me through some very difficult days.

Thank you to everyone who has already supported my fundraiser. Together, we've raised $20,000 for Blood Cancer United.

I'd love to reach $25,000 by June 30, and I'm just $5,000 away.

We passed $16,000! 💛

Sixteen years of living with blood cancer. That was the milestone I wanted to honor—and you helped me get there. I'm so grateful.

Today I leave for Bhutan. And now I'm setting a new goal: $25,000 by April 25th, the day I return home.

Let's see how far we can climb together before I land. Thank you for being part of this journey.

Birthday Countdown!

I was never supposed to see 55.

At 39, when I was diagnosed with AML, I was given only a 1 in 4 chance of surviving five years.

Yet next week, I turn 55.

16 years.
4 relapses.
3 stem cell transplants.

And somehow, I am still here.

Not by chance, but because Blood Cancer United has been relentless in supporting patients like me and funding the research that makes survival possible.

So to celebrate this milestone, I’m heading to Bhutan this April to climb to 16,000 feet.

My goal is to raise $16,000 so that more people living with blood cancer can celebrate more birthdays, reach more milestones, and have more moments with the people they love.

Bhutan this April!

10 years ago today — January 11, 2017 — I stood on the summit of Kilimanjaro with an incredible team.
That climb changed me. It was about more than reaching the top—it was about honoring those we had lost to blood cancer and committing, in a very real way, to keep showing up for this cause.

Today, I laced up my boots and officially kicked off training for my next Climb 2 Cure adventure: Bhutan this April.

I’m climbing for everyone we’ve lost over the last ten years. For the families, the milestones missed, and the moments that should have lasted longer. And I’m climbing with hope—for better treatments, more time, and a future beyond blood cancer.

💜 2025: Chemo Week

Writing this from my clinic chair — Day 3 of 5.

Today’s post is a big shoutout to the incredible nurses who make days like this not just bearable, but better. 💉💜

They are the calm in the chaos — the ones who notice the little things, who remember your favorite blanket, who somehow make a fluorescent room feel a little warmer. They carry an impossible mix of compassion, strength, humor, and grace — and they do it every single day.

To all the nurses out there caring for patients like me: thank you for your steady hands and your kind hearts. You are the heartbeat of healing.

💜 2025: Day 2 of 5

I’m writing from my clinic chair on day 2 of a 5-day round of chemo — and I’m hopeful this will be my last. I feel incredibly lucky to have such great care at UCLA Health, but I know not everyone has the same access or support. Too many people face the weight of treatment and financial stress.

This post is for everyone sitting in a clinic today — waiting on labs, blood draws, or infusions. You’re not alone. 💜

This week, I’m also working toward my $1,000 goal (part of my larger $16,000 campaign) to help Blood Cancer United continue supporting patients and caregivers everywhere.
