I am taking on the National Rookie Challenge for America's Most Beautiful Bike Ride with Blood Cancer United
Please join us in supporting this important fundraising campaign. As many of you know, 12 years ago, my wife Melissa was diagnosed with a brain tumor. During one of the most difficult seasons of our lives, she showed extraordinary strength, courage, and faith. Through the grace of God, the unwavering support of loved ones, and the advances of modern medicine, Melissa overcame this battle.
Today, we want to give back and stand alongside the countless individuals and families who are still facing this fight. We ride in support of Melissa, whose strength and courage continue to inspire us, and in loving memory of Papa Dick, whose legacy reminds us why this cause matters so deeply. By coming together, we can raise vital funds to support continued research, advance treatments, and provide hope—so that more families can experience the same outcome we were blessed with. Thank you for your generosity, for honoring those we love, and for helping make a difference.
In support of this cause, Tom and Kyle are taking on an incredible challenge: riding 100 miles around the breathtaking Lake Tahoe. This is no ordinary ride—it begins at a high altitude of 6300-7100 feet and has a significant elevation gain of over 4000 vertical feet. To make this feat even more remarkable, neither Tom nor Kyle are experienced cyclists. Tom is also tackling this challenge after recently undergoing shoulder surgery and a double knee replacement.
Every mile they ride represents determination, resilience, and hope for those battling cancer. Their commitment is a powerful reminder that meaningful change often comes through perseverance and heart. Together, one mile and one donation at a time, we can make a lasting impact.
You will be supporting The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (LLS) (and a range of cancers) by making a donation to our fundraising campaign. Thanks to your support, our efforts, will help fund the therapies and treatments and help save lives today.
LLS's continued advancements over the years, are responsible for the blood cancer survival rate doubling and tripling; in some cases, the survival rate has even quadrupled.
And many LLS supported therapies not only help blood cancer patients but are now used to treat patients with rare forms of stomach and skin cancers. They're even being tested in clinical trials for patients with a range of cancers including lung, brain, breast, pancreatic and prostate cancers. LLS funded drugs are now being tested for patients with other non-cancerous diseases like Diabetes, Rheumatoid Arthritis and Multiple Sclerosis.
We really are changing the face of blood cancer!
