Behind every mile is a reason. Ours is Alex.

Some of us knew her well. Others never had the chance. But all of us are here because her story matters, and because the fight against blood cancer is one worth showing up for.
Alex was diagnosed with Acute Myeloid Leukemia in May 2021 and fought with the kind of fire and spirit that inspired everyone around her. She left this world in October 2022, but her light, her fight and legacy lives on with Team Alex.

Team Alex has been fundraising for the past few years through Light the Night, another Blood Cancer United initiative. Now we are bringing her legacy to a new road. This race is our way of expanding that mission and making sure Alex’s name and spirit reaches even further. Every mile we pedal and every dollar we raise goes toward the therapies, treatments, and research that Blood Cancer United funds every day for patients, families, and researchers working toward a cure.
The impact is real. Blood Cancer United’s advancements have helped double and even triple survival rates for blood cancer patients, and in some cases quadruple them. The therapies they support are now being used beyond blood cancer, with research extending into lung, brain, breast, pancreatic, and prostate cancers, as well as non-cancerous diseases like diabetes, rheumatoid arthritis, and multiple sclerosis.
Join us, cheer us on, or make a donation. All donations are tax deductible and support research, patient services, advocacy, education, and community programs. Every bit of support means everything.
