Welcome To My Fundraising Page!
In February 2021, at the age of 27 I was diagnosed with Chronic Lymphocytic Leukemia (CLL) and have been profoundly lucky enough to be in a complete remission since August 2021. This healthy and sustainable remission is thanks to many factors but, in no small part, is because of the hematology/oncology research and medical advancements that LLS (and many other organizations) support that I benefited from.
However, outside of the research that LLS supports, LLS is also a crucial resource for cancer patients, survivors, and care givers to support each other, build community, and leverage a power platform amidst a crushing healthcare system. While I don't believe that it is any cancer surivor and their loved ones' responsibility to financially invest in life-saving medical innovation (thank you, Big Pharma), LLS is simply a good cause providing wraparound support to people like me.
I've had my eye on this century ride for 5 years now. I'm so proud to now be pursuing this fundraiser as a cancer survivor and hopefully the 100 miles will be a breeze, right?!?!?!
As I consider a future where CLL will always be there alongside me, I am increasingly heartened by all of the medical advancements made in this field - thank you LLS and to everyone in my support system! With this all being said, please join me in supporting The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (LLS) by making a donation to my fundraising campaign.
