In the last 12 years, I’ve helped to raise almost $1 million dollars for blood cancer research. That’s all thanks to your generosity, and for that I am eternally grateful. This year’s 10k in Central Park will be on June 6, and I need your help reaching my fundraising goal of $50,000.
When my mom was diagnosed with stage 4 Non-Hodgkin Lymphoma in 1998, I thought the darkness that had descended upon my world would never let up. I was wrong. Treatment with Rituxan in 2003 put her disease progression into remission. It’s not just that she lived to see me get married, have kids, find a job I love, and turn 50 (!!). She has thrived!
I’m grateful to scientific researchers, to everyone who works on drug trials, and to my parents, who kept looking forward, even in those dark days.
This cause is truly a family affair. All 3 of my kids and my husband have participated in this cause in some way, and I couldn’t be more proud.
Cancer never affects just one person. It takes a village, as they say, to make it through. Thank you for being part of my village, I couldn’t do this without you.
