Roswell North in the Fight Against Blood Cancer! 

This year, we will be honoring Lindsey Strickland, Rachel Buckner, Merrill King and Jannon Barker. Lindsey Strickland, daughter of retired RNE para-professional LaTroy Strickland, was recently diagnosed with Hodgkins Lymphoma and is currently undergoing treatment. Rachel Buckner was diagnosed with leukemia when she was in fourth grade at RNE and is now attending Crabapple Middle School. Merrill King was diagnosed with leukemia when she was in fourth grade at RNE and passed away in 2008. Jannon Barker was a first grade teacher at Summit Hill Elementary who passed away in 2007.  She was the daughter of retired RNE counselor, Gloria Barker Carlisle.

This is our eleventh campaign for Pennies for Patients! This past year, Roswell North ranked third in the state for contributions to The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society! Since 2007, RNE has raised over $98,000. This year's goal is $20,000 to help cure cancer. By raising $20,000 this year, RNE will make an overall impact of $118,000. Together with Crabapple Middle School, Roswell High School, Kids 'R' Kids of Historic Roswell, Young Life Academy, and the Roswell community, we have raised more than $280,000! 

Your donations do make a difference. For over 65 years LLS has invested more than $1 billion to advance cancer therapies and save lives. Last year alone, LLS invested nearly $79.8 million in cutting-edge research. And many LLS-supported therapies not only help blood cancer patients, but are now used to treat patients with other forms of cancers as well.  Nearly 40% of new cancer therapies approved by the FDA between 2000 and 2014 were first approved for blood cancer patients.

We really are changing the face of blood cancer! Here are ways you can help:

• Support a specific student at R.N.E. who has their own page. You can do so by searching for the student’s name* on the left side of the screen to locate their fundraising page. All students that raise $50 or more online will receive a T-shirt.
• Make a general donation to our school, please click the Donate Now button.

All donations are greatly appreciated and are tax deductible. Donations support LLS research, patient services, advocacy, public and professional education, and community services.
