"Sometimes there's a man... I won't say a hero, 'cause, what's a hero? But sometimes, there's a man. And I'm talkin' about The Dude Hates Cancer in Philadelphia here..."
This year, for the first time, I'll be bowling in The Dude Hates Cancer! I've been involved with the campaign since I started it in 2006, but typically I'm involved with the organizational stuff while all the teams take to the lanes. This year, I'm super excited to be joining one of the original teams in the event, The High Rollers.
The High Rollers have been part of this event since I founded it 11 years ago in honor of my parents. In fact, they won the first tournament! Since then, other teams have taken top honors each year, but this team of some of my best friends has carried on and raised money for this important cause.
I'm bowling and raising money in honor of my mom, Lisa Maxwell, who was taken from this earth far too early by multiple myeloma in 2012. I'm also bowling in honor of my dad, who has thankfully been in remission since his initial treatments for leukemia in 2001.
I hope you'll consider donating to my fundraising campaign this year! TDHC has raised over $600,000 for LLS since it's inception...let's keep it going!
