Dear Friends and Family:
Happy New Year! My name is Brandon Fuller and I am a student at Rider University. I am reaching out to you as I continue to support the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society. Ski4Life is a ski and snowboard event held at Roundtop Mountain in Lewisberry, PA, on February 6, 2016. This year will be my eighth year sending cancer downhill and I have raised close to $50,000 in honor of those survivors, Crystal Bryan, those still fighting, my best friend, Jillian Procope, and those who have lost their battle, my aunt, Andrea Symosh.
For those of you who don’t know, my Aunt Andrea was diagnosed with Acute Myeloid Leukemia in the winter of 2009. She went through a bone marrow transplant and was doing well for a few months. Unfortunately, in 2012, the cancer came back and she lost her battle in the fall. My aunt was my best friend and always supported me everything. My aunt Andrea and uncle Chet came to everything from scouting court of honors to seeing me perform on stage, she was always there in the front row! As her treatment went on, she was unable to travel and was unable to make it out to my performances. Cancer was never an excuse, she always was able to make it to Ski Roundtop and see everyone skiing down the slopes.
Last summer, my best friend, Jillian Procope, heard the words no one wants to hear, let alone a student going to college to plan for her future. Jillian was diagnosed with Acute Myeloid Leukemia. This form of cancer is rare and it was odd that two people very close to me were diagnosed with it! She is being treated at Johns Hopkins in Baltimore. Recently, we received news that her transplant took over and the doctors do not see any more leukemia cells! We are hoping that she is able to go back to school as soon as possible.
This year, my goal is to raise $6,000. In years past, I have skied with a team including my cousins, but they are scattered across the country and unable to ski with me this year. So, this year I am participating as an individual. Please help me in my journey to send cancer downhill.
