Idaho Cares - Idaho Cures!
We had an awsome night on Monday, February 25th! Big Daddy's Restaurant graciously donated a portion of sales from their location at FIve Mile and Fairview to The Leukemia and Lymphoma Society. We had a great turn out and a lot of fun! Big Daddy's is considering a comitment to make this an annual event, including both locations and their food truck. We are thankful for their support! Check out their menu at boisebbq.com/
Eagle Bike Co. and the Power of Local Business
One of the things we have learned through fundraising for The Leukemia and Lymphoma Society is who we want to do business with in the future. We want to repay kindness with kindness where we can! We have had a number of locally owned and franchised businesses lend their support to our fundraiser. However, we have a stand-out local business that deserves your 'likes' and your business - Eagle Bike Shop.
The owner, Eddie, posted a few weeks ago that he had some bikes that he would like to donate to a non-profit, so Donovan and Chloe enthusiastically headed to his shop to tell him about LLS, hoping for one bike to add to our silent auction.
Eddie didn't just donate one bike, or even two. He donated SIX beautiful, top of the line bicycles! Chloe was ecstatic, it was an incredible moment for her and more than she had thought was possible. But it gets better...
When Donovan returned the next day to pick up the bikes, Eddie showed him TWO MORE he was sending to Chloe. EIGHT BIKES. Amazing generosity, no expectation of receiving anything in return - just a great guy with a big heart that saw an opportunity to do something good and then acted on it.
Yesterday, Chloe was able to present him with a certificate of appreciation from the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society. I hope we were able to show him how much his donation means to us. The funds raised from his donation will directly benefit cancer patients in Idaho.
While they were there, Sophie bought herself a new bike! Because of this experience, we are all learning the value of supporting local business and the feeling of community that comes from giving and giving back.
THANK YOU Eddie! I would encourage anyone interested in a new bike or involved in the cycling community to take a look at www.eaglebikeshop.com- Head on over to his page and give him a like. Leave a comment telling him 'Thank you for supporting cancer patients and their families in the Treasure Valley!'
Thank you!!

I would love to tell you more about this incredible program and how
The Leukemia and Lymphoma Society is bringing help and hope to people fighting blood cancer!
Listen Up! Idaho Cures on the RADIO!
On Monday, I had the extraordinary experience of taping two radio segments about my campaign with Tim Flaherty from Astegos.org.
Astegos is an organization dedicated to serving Boise's homeless population. Among many good works, Astegos serves breakfast every Sunday morning to over 200 homeless men, women and children outside Interfaith Sanctuary. My Grandma and Grandpa work closely with Astegos, and when Tim heard I was advocating for LLS, he offered me the opportunity to join him on his radio broadcast and tell his audience what I intend to accomplish for The Leukemia and Lymphoma Society.
You can tune in to 94.1 The Voice on Saturday 2/2 (Part 1) and Saturday 2/9 at 9:30am (Part 2)
Both segments of my interview are available to stream on Tim's podcast 'Stories from the Street' available on Spotify and itunes.
You can also listen for free at https://storiesfromthestreet.podbean.com/
If you have a heart for the homeless, please visit Astegos.org.
Idaho Cares - Idaho Cures
My name is Chloe Robbins and I am a sophomore at Rennaisance High School in Meridian, Idaho.
Recently, I was nominated to be an Ambassador for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society's Student of the Year (SoY) campaign. My goal is to raise as much money as possible for The Leukemia and Lymphoma Society in Idaho and represent our state nationally. This is SoY's first year in Idaho, and I couldn't be more ecstatic to represent our wonderful state. Idaho has such a strong and supportive community. It's important for us to let the rest of America see that passion and sense of unity!
The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society is the largest donor to blood cancer research in the nation. I am honoring those who have battled blood cancers and raising money that will go directly to LLS in support of its longstanding mission to find a cure and improve the quality of life of patients and their families. Along with my team, I am working to increase awareness about the impact of blood cancers and the cutting-edge treatments that are currently being researched, as well as inspire others to join the fight to find a cure.
How can you help?
1) Make a donation - we treasure your donation in any amount. Thank you!
2) Donate a tax-deductible item or service to our silent auction, no later than February 25th.
3) Become a corporate sponsor. Our grand finale red carpet Gala will be held on March 9th in the Crystal Ballroom at The Hoff Building. Contact me for ways your business can participate!
4) Join my team. Joining my team does not obligate you to fundraise, but it will help you stay connected to my campaign. If you or your family would like to be more actively involved, becoming a team member will give you access to marketing tools and the ability to easily create your own website. For families and students who wish to go above and beyond, use your creativity to execute your own mini-fundraiser! Your hours of service to our team can be documented and verified by LLS.
5) Share our posts! LIKE THIS PAGE with the little buttons below. Find us on Facebook and Instagram. Share this website and encourage your friends and family to consider donating.
6) We need introductions to individuals and business owners who would be interested in partnering with us. If you can connect us with like-minded people in the Treasure Valley, we would be grateful!
Upcoming Events:
Saver's FUNDrive: We are accepting donations of linens, clothes, accessories, shoes, books and small household items January 19th through February 10th. These items will be donated to our local Saver's store and a portion of those proceeds will be donated directly to The Leukemia and Lymphoma Society on our team's behalf. All donations must be delivered to the donation center at one time. I am accepting donation deliveries at my home and we can also come to you. Encourage your friends and neighbors to participate. Email IdahoCaresIdahoCures@gmail.com for more information.
Chipotle Night Out: Join us on Saturday, February 23rd at the Chipotle restaurant on Eagle Road at The Village between 5pm and 9pm. You MUST mention this fundraiser to the cashier for our campaign to receive credit! It may seem like a small gesture, but we need approximately 150 entrees ordered to meet the minimum requirements set by the restaurant to cut a check. Feel free to email with any questions!
We covet your prayers and support during this exciting, 7-week adventure!
Thank you,
Chloe Robbins
