Student Visionaries of the Year Oklahoma City
Presley Fitzhugh | Push for Progress
Presley's Student Visionaries of the Year Fundraiser
Hi there! My name is Presley Fitzhugh and I am a senior from Edmond, Oklahoma. This year I have been nominated as a Student Visionary of the Year with the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society. This means from January 18th until March 8th, I along with my 10 teammates will be working towards raising as much money as we can!
I decided to run for Student of the Year to step outside of my comfort zone. My purpose in life is to help others, push myself, and grow. This is a great opportunity to make a positive impact on patients and their families, spread the word of LLS to others, and to push for progress!
LLS:
- Funds cutting-edge research leading to breakthroughs in immunotherapy, genomics and personalized medicine that are improving and saving the lives of patients
- Provides free education and support for blood cancer patients and families, including personalized, one-on-one support, assistance with identifying and enrolling in clinical trials, and more.
- Mobilizes thousands of advocates to drive policy changes that accelerate the development of new cancer treatments and break down barriers to care.
I am honing in on the research pillar in hopes to help educate and spread more awareness regarding the breakthroughs LLS has made and will continue to make with the donations we contribute. Did you know people of all ages receive the same chemotherapy? This means the chemotherapy an adult is treated with is the exact same chemotherapy a young child will receive. LLS is Striving to raise $175 million to reimagine the standard care for pediatric blood cancer through the LLS Dare to Dream Project. This bigger, bolder, next phase of LLS Children's initiative is working to move toward effective, safe treatments that target cancer precisely without harming the rest of the child's body.
Please consider joining this fight by making a donation. All donations are greatly appreciated and tax-deductible. Please visit my website often and tell friends who would also like to donate!
Thanks to your support, my efforts will help ensure this generation is the last to see cancer.
On behalf of blood cancer patients everywhere, thank you!
