Students of the Year Orange County
Samuel Moore
Welcome to Samuel Moore's SOY Fundraising Page!
As a kid, my babysitter, Tammie, helped raise me to who I am today. When she was diagnosed with Non-Hodgkin Lymphoma, my young heart melted. Although cancer was not anything new to me, having it affect someone that close, hit me like a truck. In honor of her and to stand by her, I shaved my head at age 12. Even at a young age, I have understood the impact cancer has on family and friends. In elementary school, I witnessed two friends losing their mothers to Breast Cancer, and I personally saw how important organizations like LLS are.
As a blessing from God, The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (LLS) found its way to me. I am more than excited to announce my nomination as a Students of the Year candidate for LLS. This 7-week fundraising campaign helps raise money for new cutting edge research so that one day, our hospitals will have a cure for cancers such as Leukemia, Lymphoma, and Hodgkin's. My Team needs your help.
Since Tammie’s diagnosis, I learned the importance of family. Thinking of how she had to wait to see if she could even have kids struck me the most. All she has ever wanted was to have a beautiful family. Without her perseverance, compassion, and joy through her treatment, she might not be the woman she is today. Today I ask for your donation and heart filled generosity for Tammie’s Troops. To donate, please visit https://tinyurl.com/tammie2019, or you can write a check made payable to The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society. Please write my name, Samuel Moore, on the memo line. All donations are tax-deductible and very much appreciated. Please march with us on our expedition for a cure.
Now that I’ve got you pumped up for making a change, let me interest you towards why donating to LLS? LLS has invested over $1.2 billion in research, and LLS alone has helped fund many of the newer treatments today. These revolutionary treatments have saved many lives to allow them to live a healthy, happy life. Although we have saved many lives, I am determined to not stop in the search for a cure.
Tammie’s Troops march on towards this challenging process, but with your help, that path will be much smoother. Thank you for your time and generosity to help my team fundraise to find a cure.
On behalf of blood cancer patients everywhere, thank you for your support!
