Welcome to Peyton Peterson's Fundraising Page!

Mar 29, 2019

We have been busy the past few weeks! We have had several fundraisers: a softball game, donuts sales at school, Drag Queen Bingo and next have our Grit Karma ride this Sunday. We have been overwheleemd by the amount of awareness we have raised in addition to the donations we have recived from family, friends, the community and strangers. We post hero inspirations each day on our instagram page, and each reminds us how we are all touched by cancer in some way. Thank you for your continued support - we are almost at our goal! Every bit helps!

So Proud to be A Part of Team Hero!

Welcome to Peyton Peterson's LLS Fundraising Page!

Feb 21, 2019

I am honored to participate in the 2019 Students of the Year program, a seven-week initiative in which select high school students from around the country participate in a fundraising competition to benefit The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society. I am proud to be raising critical dollars in honor of my aunts Judy and Joanne, close neighbors Leonore Butcher and Maureen Barker and many other family and friends affected by cancer. i have seen how hard these diseases were on them as well as their families. Each dollar raised is a donation in honor of those we love and have lost to cancer.

I, along with four of my friends, are a part of Team Hero to raise funds for research and a cure. The candidate team that raises the most money at the end of the seven weeks is named Student of the Year. Our mission is to not only raise the most money but also to bring attention to blood cancers like leukemia, which is the most common form of cancer in children and teens.

Since the early 1960s, five-year survival rates for many blood cancer patients have doubled, tripled or even quadrupled. And many LLS supported therapies not only help blood cancer patients but are helping patients with other cancers and serious diseases. In fact, drugs first approved for blood cancers are now approved to treat patients with stomach cancers, skin cancers, and autoimmune diseases like rheumatoid arthritis.

We really are changing the face of not only blood cancer, but many other forms!

All donations are greatly appreciated and are tax deductible. They'll not only support LLS-funded research but will help provide critical information and support for patients, and support advocacy for laws to ensure patients can access the care and treatments they need.

Please visit our website often and share with friends who would also like to donate.

On behalf of blood cancer patients everywhere, thank you for your support!

I am donating this contribution in honor of my dear husband Doug. This is our second round of battling non hogkins lymphoma a terrible blood disease that effects so many people. He is a father, a grandfather a wonderful husband and a friend to many. I pray that this contribution will help find the cure to cancer.
