Dear friends and family,

My name is Adrienne Dunworth and I was nominated for The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (LLS) Students of the Year program. The Students of the Year program is a seven-week fundraising competition to raise as much money as possible to help find a CURE for blood cancers. There are several types of blood cancers that LLS helps fund research for; Leukemia, Lymphoma, Hodgkin disease, and Myeloma. My grandfather unfortunately passed away 2 years ago from acute myeloid Leukemia.  It happened so suddenly that I didn’t have the chance to say goodbye. 

There are many stories of those we’ve lost, and thankfully so many stories of survivorship, which inspires me to help find a cure. I know my Grandpa would be proud of me for getting involved with this organization to help spread awareness of this disease, and to raise money for a cure. I’ve chosen “Fight Song” to be my team name because I am as passionate about singing and songwriting as I am about helping those who are fighting cancer.  I’ve set a goal of raising at least $20,000 during the next seven weeks and I need your help!
