Students of the Year Campaign Orange County Inland Empire

Grace Grundstrom | Team 6LPH

Welcome to Grace Grundstrom's SOY Fundraising Page!

Jan 03, 2020

I am super excited to have been nominated for the LLS (Leukemia & Lymphoma Society) students of the year campaign. I am honored to be able to work with this campaign, as a team member nominated by Kayla Hayashi, Jacqie Gordon, and Will Stauffer. We are working to raise money for this campaign, which will run from February 9th to March 29th, 2020, for awareness of blood cancers as well as other similar diseases.

In my life, I have been very closely affected by these diseases. Multiple of my close relatives have had been diagnosed with some type of cancer, which makes this organization very important to me personally. While I have been very lucky to have all of my recent family members recover from cancer, others have not been so lucky. We are very determined to try to prevent this, and raise awareness through this campaign.

In the US, every hour, about 6 people die due to some form of blood cancer or a related sickness. This is why our team has decided to focus on the 6 Lives Per Hour (6LPH) plan, to convey the true effects of this illness. With this plan, our goal is to raise over 50,000 dollars. If this goal can be achieved, a medical research grant will be placed in our names in an area of our choice which can be used to achieve steps towards results in fighting blood cancers and related illnesses.

LLS works to find cures to Lymphoma, Leukemia, Hodgkin’s disease, and other blood-related diseases. Over $1.3 billion dollars has been raised and donated by LLS to cancer research, and has contributed to 34 of the 39 FDA-approved blood cancer treatments in just the past 2 years.

It would be very highly appreciated if you could support our campaign by making a donation to my fundraising page, or by writing a check payable to “The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society”. Our campaign is highly focused on changing 6LPH into 0LPH.

All donations are greatly appreciated and are tax deductible. They'll not only support LLS-funded research but will help provide critical information and support for patients, and support advocacy for laws to ensure patients can access the care and treatments they need.

On behalf of blood cancer patients everywhere, thank you for your support!

Thank you for your genorosity,

Grace Grundstrom
