Welcome to and thank you for visiting my page for the Student of the Year Campaign. 

I have the pleasure of teaming up with two bright young women, Melanie Kijel and Sophie Sable, to raise money for the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (LLS) as the founders of the Walking Warriors Team.  We are each individually proud to be apart of this competition to raise money for this outstanding organization. 

LLS's contributions to cancer research are responsible for the doubling and tripling of blood cancer survival rates. In addition, this research has been shown to not only aid in the successes of blood cancer battles but are now also used to treat patients with rare stomach and skin cancers. Furthermore, they are in the process of being clinically tried on patients with a broad range of cancers, including lung, brain, breast, pancreatic, and prostate cancers, and others with non-cancerous diseases. Their efforts are crucial in the worldwide search for cures, and their efforts are equally dependent on donators like you and me. 

Melanie, Sophie, and I have also decided to run this campaign in honor of two of our loved ones: Sophie's grandmother Elisa Sable, and my older sister Emily. These two amazing women were both victims of Lymphoma cancer. While I did not have the pleasure to meet Elisa, I know first hand on how cancer affects not only the patient but the family and people surrounding them through my sister. Emily's battle was short and wild and in just about two weeks it was over. By running this campaign in her honor, we are doing so in a way to commemorate her life and thank everyone around was around her throughout her battle and its aftermath. And extend a huge hand towards LLS as they continue on the battle for the patients, survivors, and victims of these diseases. 

In the last year, LLS invested $67.2 million in cutting-edge research which has aided the development of targeted therapies. These therapies have received FDA approval in just the past two years and are being used to treat patients with chronic lymphocytic leukemia and other B-cell cancers. It is on behalf of my sister and countless other patients that I encourage you to donate to our campaign fund. All donations will be given to LLS to save countless of lives, but the public and professional education of these cancers. All donations are greatly appreciated and are tax deductible.
