Team's Students of the Year Fundraiser

Mar 22, 2022

Every three minutes someone is diagnosed with a blood cancer.

Hello SRV friends and family,

Seniors at SRVHS, Regan Moore, Sara Hazlewood, and Olivia Relucio, have signed up to save lives by committing to raise $30,000 for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society with the help of their peers and community members. Each with a personal connection to blood cancer, they are passionate about this cause.

The Leukemia and Lymphoma Society (LLS) is the leading global organization dedicated to finding blood cancer cures and advancing access to lifesaving treatments.

Support our student’s journey in fundraising money and help them to reach their goal! Please donate any amount, all donations made via this page are tax-deductible.

The Pillars of The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society

Mar 22, 2022

The mission of The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society is to cure leukemia, lymphoma, Hodgkin’s disease, and myeloma and improve the quality of life of patients and families. The three different ways we accomplish our mission are Research, Access, and Advocacy.

Research: Over the last 70 years, LLS has invested over $1.3 billion into research. We have helped advance 88% of the blood cancer treatments approved by the USDA since 2017, and we are currently supporting over 240 trailblazing researchers.

Advocacy: We Office of Public Policy advocates on behalf of blood cancer patients and their families, but it doesn’t stop there! Our advocacy at the national, state, and local levels extends beyond blood cancer to make the healthcare system more equitable, affordable, and accessible for many other types of patients.

Access: Along with many other programs, LLS provides support groups, financial assistance programs, educational resources and events, and access to our Information Resource Center. Anyone can call and speak to a nurse practitioner, social worker, or health educator to  learn more about specific diagnoses, treatment options, and clinical trials. We actually have a clinical trial finder where patients can work with a nurse practitioner who will guide you through that process.
