Our paths crossed in the chemotherapy ward of Cohen's Childrens Hospital while receiving treatment for Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia in 2020. Between the two of us we have had over three hundred chemo infusions, 50 spinal taps and numerous trips to the ER because of complications due to the medicine that was given to us to cure our disease. Today we are proud to say we are both cancer free! We are extremely grateful to call ourselves survivors, but we will not stop there! Our experience has created a passion to find a better and safer way for other children to be cured of blood cancer. We have joined forces as Team "Been There, Beat That" as we compete against students from all over NYC for the title of  LLS's "Student Visionary of the Year." Our goal is to raise $100,000 and help make a direct impact on cutting-edge research leading to breakthroughs in immunotherapy, genomics and personalized medicine that will help save patients lives. These treatments can be less harmful for children and our dream is that one day, because of this research, no child will have to hear the words that we did..."You have cancer."
