My name is Serena Blechman, and I am in 10th grade at the Hewitt School in New York City. This is my first year working with the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society (LLS) and I couldn't be more excited to be part of this amazing non-profit organization. As a member of the Hewitt School’s LLS Students of the Year (SOY) team , Coming for Cancer, I am determined to collaborate with other team members to raise funds and awareness for blood cancer. SOY is a wonderful philanthropic leadership development program in which high school students from across the country compete to raise money for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society over a 7-week period kicking off in January 2022. All of the funds I raise will go directly towards blood cancer research, patient advocacy, patient services, and many other programs that work towards supporting a cure for blood cancer. With your help and donations, I will be able to work towards our goal and spread LLS’s mission to “Cure Leukemia, Lymphoma, Hodgkin's Disease, and Myeloma, and improve the quality of life of patients and their families.” With your donation, big or small, it takes us a step closer to finding the cure to blood cancer.
