Hello! My name is Claire Sircely and I am working as a candidate on this campaign alongside my cocandidate Ryen Stover! As a team this year we are hoping to raise $50,000. My dad inspired me to get involved with LLS after many years as a board member for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society here in Dallas. His work with LLS inspired me to do my part to contribute to this amazing cause through the Students of the Year Campaign. Last year as a sophomore I ran a Student of the Year campaign and my team and I were able to raise over $15,000 and this year we are hopeful that we will be able to raise even more money for cancer research. This year I am a junior at Wakeland High School in Frisco, Texas and I am working along with many other sophomores and juniors at Wakeland to hopefully raise $50,000. We greatly appreciate any contruibutions to our campaign and thank you so much for visiting our website!

I am a sophomore at Wakeland high school but was a part of Claire's team last year as a team member when I was a freshman. I am so excited to not only kickoff this year's 7 week campaign as a candidate but also be a part of such an amazing group of people who are working to change lives! I am honored to participate as a team member for the 2021 Students of the Year program, a seven-week initiative in which select high school students from around the country participate in a fundraising competition to benefit The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society. I am proud to support my candidate and am raising critical dollars in honor of a young patient hero who is currently battling or is in remission from a blood cancer. Each dollar is a vote. The candidate team that raises the most money at the end of the seven weeks is named Student of the Year. Our mission is to not only raise the most money but also to bring attention to blood cancers like leukemia, which is the most common form of cancer in children and teens.

Since the early 1960s, five-year survival rates for many blood cancer patients have doubled, tripled or even quadrupled. And many LLS supported therapies not only help blood cancer patients but are helping patients with other cancers and serious diseases. In fact, drugs first approved for blood cancers are now approved to treat patients with stomach cancers, skin cancers, and autoimmune diseases like rheumatoid arthritis.

We really are changing the face of blood cancer!
