Hey everyone!

Today was our campaign kickoff and LLS got us started in the most incredible way. We had the amazing opportunity of meeting all the other incredible teams. We even got to play golf with the one and only Chloe Brown! She even taught all of us how to play! Today really made us realize why we do what we do. We are so proud that we are taking part in this campaign and we're looking forward to the next 7 weeks!

Thank you for your interest in our mission! Our names are Samy Senthil Kumar, Aliah Mir, and Ishan Chhatbar and we are incredibly honored to participate as Team Create-A-Cure in this year's Student of the Year program. This program has provided us a wonderful opportunity to take part in a fundraising competition to benefit The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society. We had participated in this program last year and we're back for another great experience.

We are also so thrilled to be supporting our honored hero this year—Chloe Brown—who is currently in remission from acute lymphoblastic leukemia(ALL).

The candidate team that raises the most money at the end of the seven weeks is named Student of the Year. Our mission is to not only raise the most money but also to bring attention to blood cancers like leukemia, which is the most common form of cancer in children and teens.

Since the early 1960s, five-year survival rates for many blood cancer patients have doubled, tripled or even quadrupled. And many LLS supported therapies not only help blood cancer patients but are helping patients with other cancers and serious diseases. In fact, drugs first approved for blood cancers are now approved to treat patients with stomach cancers, skin cancers, and autoimmune diseases like rheumatoid arthritis.

Last year, all the teams across the nation raised over $20 million with the DFW region raised over $130 thousand. This year, we hope to raise substantially more. Our goal of raising $50 thousand will not only help fund research and patient care but will also allow us to create a research portfolio under our team name for future medical discoveries, etc.

We really are changing the face of blood cancer!

All donations are greatly appreciated and are tax deductible. They'll not only support LLS-funded research but will help provide critical information and support for patients, and support advocacy for laws to ensure patients can access the care and treatments they need.
