Hello,

My name is Elias Hanna. I am a student at Saint Ignatius High School in Cleveland, with a deep desire to make a meaningful impact and help others who are in need.

- Do you know that Cancer is the leading cause of death among kids in  USA?

- Do you know that Leukemia is the most common cancer in kids?

Because of these facts; I see the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society as an incredible non-for-profit organization that helps patients and families fighting for their lives. From a young age, I have been inspired by my dad, a pediatric oncologist at Cleveland Clinic, who taught me that when we lift others, we elevate our own lives. He has ignited my passion to help kids with cancer. I had the opportunity to meet many patients during different events and saw the challenges and struggles they face - we need more innovative therapies to save lives and need better therapies with less side effects.  I have always wanted to help patients and families in their fight against cancer. Previously, I have raised money by shaving my hair during St Baldrick events and rode a bike at Velosano for Kids and I have even walked at the "Light the Night " to support LLS for multiple years.

I am so excited now as I co-lead a team of committed friends and family, and together we have set a fundraising goal of $85,000!  The money raised helps LLS, the largest nonprofit dedicated to creating a world without blood cancers, fund research to advance lifesaving treatments, drive advocacy for policies that protect patient access to these treatments, and provide patients and families with hope, guidance, education, and support.

This cause is personal. Every dollar we raise will bring us one step closer to saving lives and giving families HOPE. I am incredibly grateful for the opportunity to be part of this team and this event to make a difference. I humbly ask for your support. Our campaign will provide support to the critical work of LLS in hopes that one day no one will have to grow up without the ones they love.
