Noah's Student Visionaries of the Year Fundraiser

Jan 18, 2024

Dear Friends and Family,

I am excited to announce that I have been given the amazing opportunity to be a part of The Leukemia and Lymphoma Society’s (LLS) Student Visionaries of the Year 2024 Campaign. This is a seven-week fundraising competition to raise money in support of LLS starting January 17th –March 8th, 2024. I have formed the Ignite Hope Team, and we will be working to help raise the funds necessary to benefit those who need them. I am asking my friends and family to help us assist the efforts of the LLS to find a cure for blood cancer. Being the first team from St. Ignatius to be apart of this program, I want my passion spill over for years to follow.

I am currently a sophomore at Saint Ignatius. This campaign goes beyond my service attitude, as I am personally connected to blood cancers with my uncle battling a form of Leukemia as you read this. My sister also participated in this program when she was in high school, and her motivation is a key factor in all of my efforts. These experiences have prepared me to take on this fundraising challenge and life-changing opportunity with LLS. I will gain valuable experiences like communicating with business leaders, building teams, and leading towards a common goal. Through your support of my team, I hope to impact the countless people affected by leukemia and lymphoma as well as the doctors and researchers who are working to find a cure.

Each charitable dollar you contribute to our campaign makes an impacting difference. One hundred percent of these funds go directly to LLS in support of its longstanding mission to cure leukemia, lymphoma, Hodgkin’s disease, and myeloma and to improve the quality of life of patients and their families. Not only is LLS helping patients with blood cancers, but LLS is going beyond blood cancer by funding more than 60% of the blood cancer therapies being used to treat other cancers. This year, as we continue to navigate through the pandemic, it is crucial to support organizations like LLS, as cancer patients are at a higher risk for complications with COVID-19.

Please join me to help support the efforts of The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society. While my team is the first, this should not be a one time occasion and to make our first impression on our community amazing, which would set our program up for years to come, we need your support. By donating any amount, you are supporting the programs and critical research LLS is doing. Our aggressive, yet capable campaign goal over these seven weeks is $200,000!

This is how YOU can help find the cure! There are two ways you can make a contribution by March 8th.

Check: Please make all checks payable to “The Leukemia and Lymphoma Society” and print the Ignite Hope in the Memo section. (This method is tax deductable)

Cash: Cash donations can be given to the participant who will make the formal donation to our LLS campaign themselves.

Thank you in advance for your support!

Sincerely,
Noah Botros
