Dear Friends and Family,

I am very excited to announce that I am participating in the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society’s 2022 “Students of the Year” fundraising campaign! Fundraising is done over a 7 week period, from January 29th to March 19th.  All money raised will go to the Leukemia & Lymphoma society towards blood cancer research and providing for patients and families affected by cancer. Our team is dedicated and ready to put in hard work in the hope to make things easier for those impacted by cancer. 

Since the 1960s, the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society has invested more than $1 billion to advance blood cancer research. Every 3 minutes someone joins the battle of blood cancer. LLS is now the largest nonprofit organization for blood cancer research. I am very proud to be a part of an organization that helps change the lives of so many people. 

In 2017, my cousin Vivian Zaratsian was diagnosed with a rare form of Leukemia at 15 months old. Over the next few years she had bone marrow transplants and went through multiple rounds of chemotherapy. Vivian was a younger sister to my cousin Harper and in 2017 her younger sister Quinn was born. Vivian’s battle was hard on my family. Most of her parents time was spent in the hospital while also having to take care of 2 other kids. In January 2020, 14 minutes shy of her 4th birthday, Vivian passed away. Vivian lit up every room she walked into and had an impact on every person she met. I wanted to get involved in this organization to help people just like Vivian.
