Students of the Year Cleveland
Caroline McGreal & Crystal Yormick | Team Blue Streaks For A Cure
Caroline and Crystal's Students of the Year Fundraiser
We are so excited to be team leaders and support the 2021 Students of the Year program, a seven-week initiative in which select high school students from the Greater Cleveland area participate in a fundraising competition to benefit The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (LLS).
Our names are Caroline and Crystal, and we are currently juniors at Beaumont School. With the help of our team, Blue Streaks for a Cure, we will be working hard this year to raise our goal of $20,000 in funds to go directly to LLS through their Students of the Year Campaign. With your help, we become steps closer to reaching that goal. Meanwhile, we are all changing the lives of individuals who have had their lives affected by blood cancer, right here in Northeastern Ohio.
Over the next few weeks, we will be raising critical dollars in honor of two local blood cancer survivors, Tim and Colin.
Every dollar raised equals one vote. The team that raises the most funds receives the title Student(s) of the Year.
We chose to be involved in the Students of the Year program because we personally have seen just how impactful cancer can be on not only the just the patient, but also on the patient's family and friends. We want to help alleviate the burden cancer patient's families face everyday by raising money and awareness for blood cancer. We also want to help LLS in their mission of finding a cure because we hope that someday we can reach a day when no one has to deal with the pain of losing a family member to cancer.
Did you know that approximately every three minutes, someone in the US is diagnosed with blood cancer? To help solve this growing problem, LLS has crafted a mission of research, access, and advocacy. Since 1964, LLS has worked hard to support and advance cancer therapies. The amount of time and money LLS supporters have put in has played a major part in the increasing survival rates for blood cancer patients.
However, there is still more work to do. More than 1.2 million people are living with or in remission from leukemia, Hodgkin’s disease, and myeloma. As the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society works everyday towards the goal of a blood cancer free world, they need support along the way to reach this goal.
All donations are greatly appreciated and are tax deductible. They'll not only support LLS-funded research but will help provide critical information and support for patients, and support advocacy for laws to ensure patients can access the care and treatments they need.
Please visit our website often and bring friends who would also like to donate!
Together we can have a lasting impact on the work of The Leukemia and Lymphoma Society and change the lives of individuals around us. Thank you for supporting LLS!

Sincerely,
Caroline McGreal, Crystal Yormick, and Team Blue Streaks for a Cure

I’m a Beaumont alum and also a LLS board member. I am excited that you two are participating in this year’s student of the year! You have a nice fundraising goal and I wish you both success. I sent an e-mail to the Principal and President of Beaumont to let them know about your fundraising efforts. Go Blue Streaks!
