Savannah's Students of the Year Fundraiser
Hello! My name is Savannah Keaton and I am a student at North Ridgeville High School. I am honored and grateful to be apart of the Students of the Year Program through the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society and I am proud to have joined the fight against blood cancer. My team, Rangers against Cancer, is going to do everything in our power to work towards finding the cure to cancer. What is the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society? The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society has a mission of finding a cure to leukemia, lymphoma, Hodgkin's disease, and myeloma, and also works towards improving the quality of life of patients and their families. The Leukemia and Lymphoma Society wants to make sure that no one has to hear the heartbreaking words "You have cancer."
What is Students of the Year? Students of the Year is a seven-week fundraising program for high school students, like myself, in the Greater Cleveland area. Over the next few weeks, I will be raising critical dollars in honor of two local blood cancer survivors, Tim and Colin. They both have incredible stories and I am so grateful to be honoring them. Through your donation, you are not only helping our local heroes Tim and Colin, but you are also helping thousands of youth and adults in their fight against cancer.
Why does donating to the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society matter? Every 3 minutes someone is diagnosed with blood cancer. In one day, this amounts to about 480 people. More than 33% of those people, or around 159 people, will not live to see five years after their diagnosis. It is time to stick up to cancer and fight for the cure. I know my team and I can do it, but we can't do it without you! Your donation goes towards cancer research, which the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society has funded 53 of 61 FDA approved treatments since 2017, as well as they have supported eighty research grants. With your generous and considerate donation, you are helping create a cancer-free world!
On behalf of blood cancer patients and their families everywhere as well as my team and I, we sincerely thank you for your generous support!
