Evan's Students of the Year Fundraiser
I am excited to announce that I will be participating in the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society’s (LLS), “Students of the Year” campaign. Every year, LLS gives high school students the chance to raise funds in the hopes of encountering a cure for patients fighting blood-borne cancers. The competition begins on January 9, 2021, and ends on February 27, 2021. Our team is dedicated. Team Miracle Makers and I are determined to reach our goal of $80,000 in hopes of getting closer to finding a cure!
Since 1964, The Leukemia and Lymphoma Society has been at the forefront in the battle against blood-borne cancers. Survival rates have been constantly growing since the 1960s. For more than 68 years, LLS has invested more than $1 billion to advance cancer therapies and save lives. Many LLS supported therapies not only help blood cancer patients but are now approved to treat patients with rare autoimmune diseases. This new therapy is even being tested against different types of cancer!
For me this cause is personal. Blood cancer took the life of my aunt 11 years ago in 2009. Unfortunately, my family had to cope with the premature loss of a relative. After seeing this, I have realized that fighting against cancer is not for an individual to battle alone. These diseases don’t just impact the patients, it’s a family battle! Now, I am committed to helping raise funds to prevent other families from going through a difficult loss.
Every donation, big or small, will help us in the fight against blood-borne cancers. For more information, feel free to contact me through my email etyppo4@gmail.com.
