Dominic's Students of the Year Fundraiser
I want to thank everyone who was able to come out to Chipotle last night to support our Kickoff fundraiser! We are on our way to do great things during the next 7 weeks! We appreciate your continued support, and I hope you spread the word to raise awareness! Let's Beat Blood Cancer!!!
Dominic's Students of the Year Fundraiser
Dear Friends and Family,
I have been nominated as a candidate for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society’s (LLS) 2021 Students of the Year campaign. For seven weeks, starting January 9th and ending February 27th, high school students will be raising awareness of the research, programs, and advocacy being conducted through LLS, in addition to raising funds to support their mission to cure blood cancers.
For more than 68 years, LLS has invested more than $1 billion to advance cancer therapies and save lives. Every 3 minutes someone is diagnosed with blood cancer and an average of 3,679 children and young adults are diagnosed with leukemia each year.
My reason for joining LLS became more personal when a fellow student at Kenston High School, Delaney Nalepka, passed away after a hard fought battle against Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia on November 12, 2020. Delaney was full of life and light and had an amazing group of friends and family who supported her throughout her battle against cancer. Delaney’s Defenders helped bring her light and joy, and comfort her family through the rough times. This year, I will be completing my Student of the Year Campaign in honor of Delaney Nalepka to share her story with supporters across the country.
Our team is a multi-generational group of innovative minds, and we are all working hard to meet our goal. Our hope is to raise $30,000 this year which will go directly to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society to provide families and patients with blood cancer research, transportation services, support services, financial assistance, patient advocacy and so much more!
With YOUR HELP, we can continue our fight against blood cancer! You're already at my fundrasing page, so you donate electronically here! To donate through the mail, please make all checks payable to The Leukemia and Lymphoma Society using the enclosed, pre-addressed envelope. Please print our team name, “Kenston For A Kure” in the memo section. Your donations are tax-deductible! Every little bit helps, and is appreciated by cancer patients, and their families across the country.
You can follow our journey on Instagram and Facebook page by following @lls_kenston, and please feel free to contact me any time by the phone or email below!
Thank you in advance for your time, consideration, and support of the mission of LLS.
Sincerely,
Dominic Alandt and Team Kenston For A Kure

As teachers, we have had students lose their battle with cancer. We value and cherish young hearts that recognize how much they have and realize they have so much to give.

Thank you Dominic. My sister suffered more than 30 years ago with ALL. After more than a year of treatments, and much hospitalization she passed away. I am encouraged that through research, treatments have changed, and survival rates have increased. Hopefully one day a cure will be found.
