Alexis's Students of the Year Fundraiser
Hey there! My name is Alexis Baloi and I am thrilled to be working alongside my friends on Team Hudson Explorers in the 2021 Students of the year campaign! I am overjoyed to be working with such a great team of members and mentors to represent our community: Hudson, Ohio. I'm an alumnus of Hudson High School and currently a freshman at Ohio University studying Cellular and Molecular Biology and in the OU-HCOM EAP, as well as the Ohio Honors Program!
Since 1964, the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society has been at the forefront in the battle against blood-borne cancers. For more than 60 years, LLS has invested over 1 billion dollars to advance cancer research, treatment therapies, and save lives. LLS has been relentless in its pursuit to cure leukemia, lymphoma, myeloma, Hodgkin's disease, and improve the lives of cancer patients and their families.
As many of you know I have held a fundraiser on my birthday for the past two years in support of the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society. I have been dedicated to advocating for their campaign and helping better the lives of those who are suffering from blood-borne cancers. This year I wanted to take an extra step and help support LLS in a larger capacity by working alongside my wonderful teammates on Team Hudson Explorers.
I would like to personally extend a thank you to anyone visiting this page and supporting me through this journey! My teammates and I are extremely grateful for any donation given, big or small. Please note that your generosity does not go unnoticed. You are helping change the world for a patient, their family, and their friends by donating. Even if you are unable to donate during these unprecedented times, it's your support that counts, and I hope you can share this fundraiser with your friends and family as well.
Beating cancer is in our blood! Stand with me and my teammates in the fight against blood cancer!

Alexis's Students of the Year Fundraiser
As a global leader in the fight to end cancer, The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society is committed to doing more for blood cancer patients and families than any organization in the world. Our signature and innovative fundraising campaigns like Students of the Year drive critical support for their mission – to cure leukemia, lymphoma, Hodgkin’s disease, myeloma and improve the quality of life for patients and their families.
Students of the Year is a seven-week fundraising program for high school students, like myself, in the Greater Cleveland area. Over the next few weeks, I will be raising critical dollars in honor of two local blood cancer survivors, Tim and Colin.
Every dollar raised equals one vote. The team that raises the most funds receives the title Student(s) of the Year.
I believe that beating cancer is in our blood. Cancer is a bully, but I am not afraid to stand up and fight. I invite you to stand with me and join the fight!
By donating, you support the many facets of their mission work from investing in groundbreaking research, providing education and support to patients, and advocating at the state and federal level for legislation to help those living with cancer. Together, we have the power, the passion and the resolve to achieve a world without blood cancer. All donations are tax-deductible.
On behalf of blood cancer patients and their families everywhere, we sincerely thank you for your generous support!
