As a global leader in the fight to end cancer, The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society is committed to doing more for blood cancer patients and families than any organization in the world. Our signature and innovative fundraising campaigns like Students of the Year drive critical support for our mission.

Students of the Year is a seven-week fundraising competition for high school students in the Greater Cleveland area. The student(s) who raise the most funds receive a college scholarship to the college/university of their choice!

Students of the Year candidates are those students who go above and beyond the call of duty, have a heart for philanthropy and want to make a difference in their community. In fact, our 2020 class of candidates went above and beyond by raising over $829,000 towards our mission!

Our 2021 candidate teams are up to the challenge and represent the following schools: Aurora High School Bay High School, Berea MidPark High School, Brunswick High School, Chagrin Falls High School, Gilmour Academy, Hathaway Brown School, Hawken School, Hudson High School, Independence High School, Kenston High School, Laurel School, Nordonia High School, Padua Franciscan High School, Revere High School, Shaker Hts. High School, Solon High School, St. Eds. and Western Reserve Academy.

This year, our students are raising funds in honor of two local blood cancer survivors, Tim and Colin. Despite their grueling treatments, both gentleman are in remission!

Our students believe that beating cancer is in their blood. Cancer is a bully, but they are not afraid to stand up and fight. We invite you to stand with them and join their fight! 

By donating, you support the many facets of our mission work from investing in groundbreaking research, providing education and support to patients, and advocating at the state and federal level for legislation to help those living with cancer.
