WE NEED YOUR HELP IN THE FIGHT AGAINST BLOOD CANCER! 

Hey friends and family! We, Claudia Binder and Lily Botros, are the candidates for the Hathaway Brown School fundraising team, Team HopefuLL. Our team is raising money and awareness for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society (LLS) through the Students of the Year program. Students of the Year is a seven-week fundraising competition for high school students in northeast Ohio to raise the most money for the mission of LLS. The campaign is from January 25th to March 13th and our goal is to raise $50,000 as a team. With your help, we can make a difference because beating cancer is in our blood!  

THE LLS MISSON:  
Cure leukemia, lymphoma, Hodgkin's disease and myeloma, and improve the quality of life of patients and their families 

WHY ARE WE DOING IT: 
Claudia- Throughout the past couple of years, I have seen the Students of the Year competition take place and I have longed to be a part of it and make my mark in the fight against cancer. I am so thankful to Ellie Banbury, the Hathaway Brown candidate for 2019, to have nominated me to take her place in this life-changing campaign for the year 2020. I have seen how cancer has touched the lives of my family and friends and being able to contribute to a cause so much larger than myself is an honor. The Leukemia and Lymphoma Society is something that I have become so passionate about. Often as high school students, at first, taking part in the SOY program can seem like an impossible task, but throughout the last few months seeing all of our hard work come together really shows us that we can do this - with your support! Lily- When Claudia asked me to be her co-candidate, I was excited to be a part of such an impactful campaign. I've seen the effects that cancer can have on not just a person but their family and friends as well. Both my grandparents, as well as other family members have faced cancer. Watching my loved ones battle cancer is why I chose to support and fundraise for others who are going through this fight. These last few months, Claudia and I have been planning, emailing, and meeting more than I ever thought was possible, especially as high school students! Now LLS has become a huge part of my life and I hope you can support me in this fundraising campaign. With your help, we can get one step closer to a cure for cancer!
